11/16/18
Every day may not be good but there is good in every day.

Snowing, a NE breeze and 21 degrees.  5-8 inches of snow today with a NNE wind, a high of 27 and a low of 23 tonight as the storm moves away.  Mostly cloudy tomorrow with a west breeze, a high of 40 and a low of 19.  Sunny Sunday with a WNW breeze, a high of 30 and a low of 18. Snow showers Monday morning with a light NW breeze, a high of 33 and a low of 10.  Partly cloudy Tuesday with a light NNW breeze, a high of 22 and a low of 5.  Partly cloudy Wednesday with a brisk NW breeze, a high of  18 and a low of 7.  A chance of a snow shower Thanksgiving morning with a WNW breeze, a high of 26 and a low of 14.  Mostly sunny Black Friday with a NW breeze, a high of 28 and a low of 17.  Cloudy Saturday with a NW breeze, a high of 36 and a low of 24.  Perhaps a PM rain/snow shower Sunday, the 25th with a NNW breeze, a high of 35 and a low of 24.  Snow showers are forecast for the next five days with highs in the low thirties and lows in the low twenties.
Darel had a comfortable quiet day yesterday.  We took a ride to the store for our turkey,  Its in the refrigerator thawing.  It is twenty-two pounds, i hope six days is enough time for it to thaw.
The good thing yesterday,  Gilbert covered the perennial pots with a polyester blanket and white plastic.  Now the snow will give them more insulation so they won't be freezing and thawing.  Though there doesn't look like much thawing in the forecast.
The drain for the sump pump is a redneck drain but it works.  The two "Proper" drains we put in froze up.  Andrew redid it yesterday to make sure it won't give us any problems this winter.  He put a 4" stump we had in the side yard in the tractor bucket so I could put it in the kitchen garden with a platform on it for a bird feeder.  Hopefully it will be above the drifts!  I don't ever remember having this many different birds.
I think we are ready for winter.  While it snows today I'll put some more bags of apples in the freezer.  Have a good day, Sally
