Darel had a pleasant but very quiet day. No Creamery last night, I had a very busy day and just wanted to stay home.
The vegetable stand was busy yesterday, I'd turn my back and we'd be out of something else! When I was picking squash I saw a wood chuck and noticed he is eating the sweet potato vines. I'm going to put the live trap up there with lettuce in it today in hopes he'll prefer the lettuce.
I have a 12 quart pan of cooked apples in the refrigerator waiting to go through the mixer attachment to make them into applesauce. I'll be checking for drops every day now to make applesauce. I got the herb dryer down off the rafters and cleaned it up. As soon as someone tall comes by they can hang it over the cook range for me and I'll start drying herbs.
We had a thunderstorm pop up yesterday morning just as Doug and crew were unloading the last trailer load of hay. There is still some on the ground but it is some that is poor quality, he was going round bale it. The barns are full, the baker is full and his covered hay trailer is full. A good year.
Have a good day, Sally
