I have always loved Christmas.  This year it is extra special to Darel too.  God sent his Son to earth as a baby to become a man who would die for our sins  so we know we will go to heaven when we die.  Yesterday was the first Sunday in Advent, the weeks we spend getting ready to celebrate Christ's birth.  We were able to go to church yesterday and join our church family in Communion.  Communion is always special but seemed more so yesterday.
Sally Jo, with some help from Baylee, had entered a gingerbread house contest, taking third in about seventy people.  Her gingerbread house is a Nativity.  She gave it to us to display for the season.
Our day was topped off by a visit from the Bradford Church Carolers, some seventy people in all.  Including Grand daughter Rachael, yes the same Rachael who spent so many days singing with her ukulele to her grandfather last summer when he was only able to lay there in the hospital bed.  Even though family and Raymond Freeman were here all of the carolers were able to come in the house to sing.  I don't have words to tell you how beautiful it was and how much it meant to have so much love starting off the season.
Darel asked me to put him to bed before seven, he said it was a wonderful day  but very emotional and tiring.   It took him awhile to fall asleep, we talked about how blessed we are.  As often happens he had an "event"  during his sleep.  He is still sleeping this morning.  I'll have to wake him soon as the CNA comes this morning.
I didn't get much done yesterday, never even got the Village out.  Today sounds like the day to finish up outside,  Tuesday's weather sounds like the day to put the village up.
I did watch chickadees for awhile.  We have more this year than we've ever had before.  Lots of finches now too.
     Enjoy your day, Sally`
