12/19/17
A single act of kindness throughs out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.  Amelia Earhart

Some slippery roads, clouds, calm and 16 degrees.  Perhaps an inch os snow today, some freezing rain may mix in, with a light SSW breeze, a high of 31, dropping to 26 tonight.  Sunny tomorrow with strong WNW breezes, a high of 32 and a low of 8.  Sunny Thursday, still a pretty stiff NW breeze, a high of 19 and a low of 1.  1-3 inches of snow showers Friday with a light NE breeze, a high of 17 and a low of 15.  Rain/snow Saturday with a SE breeze, a high of 45 and a low of 31.  Partly cloudy Sunday, Christmas Eve Day, with a light NW breeze, a high of 37 and a low of 23.  Now the forecast for Christmas Day is a light winter mix accumulating 1-3 inches, NNE breeze, a high of 26 and a low of 18.  Tuesday, the 26th, through Friday, the 29th, are forecast to be cold and dry with WNW breezes. The next days are forecast to have snow showers.
Darel napped a lot yesterday.  We did have to go to Corinth for prescriptions.  We had a stack of Christmas cards.  He opened them for me to read to him.  His eyes aren't good enough to read or even recognize some pictures.  I am so glad we got the pellet stove, it keeps the front room and bedroom warm.  He sat out here and watched me decorate the tree for quite awhile,  wrapped in a blanket with a second one around his shoulders.  Even though he had a sweatshirt on.
Doug helped me finish getting the garage so that both the truck and tractor are inside.  Now that it is done Darel is very glad not to have to navigate an icy path to the truck.  Even though I had put lots of sand on it.  And i'm very happy not to be watching him do it!  An extra benefit, all that sand won't be tracked in the house.
Gilbert is cleaning up the snow we got yesterday, three inches or so.  I'll do some more cleanup later.  Otherwise I plan to wrap presents today.  I'm going to make a bench of the milk crates the squash and pumpkins are in.  More places to sit Sunday.  I'll  use the plywood we set on the tractor forks with a quilt folded on it, wrapped in a sheet..   Or maybe a pretty blanket that came in the mail yesterday.
      Have a good day, Sally
