When you can't control what's happening challenge yourself to control the way you respond to what's happening.

Snow showers this morning, possibly mixed with some rain.  It is 38 degrees, the high for the day, dropping to 22 tonight as the skies clear.  Cold NW winds today dying down tonight.  Partly cloudy tomorrow with strong WNW breezes, a high of 32 and a low of 18.  Sunny Tuesday with a SSW breeze, a high of 32 and a low of 29.  Some clouds Wednesday with strong west breezes, highs of 45 and a low of 23.  Sunny Thursday with a SSW breeze, a high of 39 and a low of 31.  Rain Friday  with an east breeze, a high of 47 and a low of 35.  Rain/snow showers Saturday with a NW breeze, a high of 46 and a low of 29.   AM snow showers next Sunday with NNW winds, a high of 38 and a low of 27.  Sunny next Monday with a brisk NW breeze, a high of 38 and a low of 27.Tuesday, the 5th, will be partly cloudy followed by three days of rain and snow.  Pleasant the weekend of the 9th and 10th.

     Yesterday was a good day for Darel.  We went to the Christmas Tree Farm and got trees for the family and junk trees for the birds' wind break.  We sat on the deer stand late afternoon but no deer.  it was the last day of deer season.  It is lightly raining now but the TV keeps warning of slippery roads later this morning so I don't know if we will go to church.

      I don't know what i did yesterday beside getting trees and hunting.  i was busy all morning!  I have a lot of rearranging to do be able to decorate for Christmas.  Our house was already full when we added the hospital bed and other medical supplies.  Other years Darel is good natured about my Christmas decorating, this year he is looking forward to it and coming up with ideas of his own.  I wasn't going to put out all the nativities but I will be.

      I'm rendering lard in the oven.  I've always done it on the wood stove but doing it that way needs too much careful attention.  i am finding out just how off my oven temperature is!  A neighbor gave me the fat when he butchered his pigs.

      The female cardinal was here yesterday, no sigh of a male.  More birds are showing up every day even though it has been warm enough so there is other water besides my waterer.
