Train your mind to see good in everything.

  Calm, clear and 55 degrees.  Sunny today and tomorrow with light NE breezes, highs about 75 and lows of 47.  Pleasant Wednesday and Thursday with SW breezes, highs about 76 and lows about 49.  Sunny Thursday morning, clouding up with PM showers, a SW breeze with a high of 75 and a low of 48.Partly cloudy Friday and Saturday with stiff NW breezes, highs in the mid sixties and lows of 48.  Partly cloudy next Sunday and Labor Day with Stiff WSW breezes, highs about 75 and lows about 55.  Pleasant the 5th through the 9th with SW breezes, highs about seventy and lows about 50.  Possible showers Sunday the 10th.

     Doug and Nicole took Darel and I to the fair yesterday.  We haven't been in years but Darel wanted to go.  He has been feeling better this past week and tires of laying in bed.  He was tired last night but had a good time.  Doug put him in the truck about 5:30 and Gilbert meant us here to get him in the house.    Lexi and Justin came by to help me get him ready for bed.  The plan is for Gilbert to take us to church this morning.

     We left for the fair before closing time yesterday, leaving everything self-service.  I've never closed early before but Darel so much wanted to go with Doug and Nicole.  It was a spur of the minute decision yesterday morning so there wasn't time to plan.  It was a busy morning getting everything done.  Sally Jo watered the mums for me.  I did other watering and filled the stand.  I didn't get any buttercup squash picked.  i should be able to do that this afternoon.

     The plums on the early plum tree are ready to can.    I want to do more than just can them.  The first tree of pears is ready to can and i do want to can them.  Perhaps I'll freeze the plums and do something with them when i have time.  Any suggestions?  We've never had such a good crop of plums as we do this year.  I may try putting some on the stand.
