Darel ha a quiet day yesterday with lots of naps. He didn't want to go for a wheelchair ride. A lot of family was in and out yesterday, he enjoyed hearing what everyone was doing.
Harvesting took a back seat yesterday to cleaning the garage for Saturday. So much cleaning the the dumpster man made an extra start to take away all the trash. Doug got lots of fencing supplies. I had told him they were there but he thought it was only a few odds and ends. Rachael's soccer team is having a bottle drive, she got three garbage bags full. A big bag was mixed in with the fencing supplies. Kendra got some Christmas decorations. She and Rodney bought a house this spring, she is looking forward to decoration for Christmas.
The birds have been putting on a good show for Darel. First the gold finches were bringing their babies to the feeders and teaching them to get out sunflower seeds and hull them. Now it is the purple finches. The parents will feed them for awhile then fly off. We can't hear the babies crying but se can see their little mouths open. After a while the parents will come back and show them again. The babies aren't very nice to each other, sibling rivalry. This morning the littlest one learned to eat first. She wasn't moving from that perch, she just ate one seed after another, hulls bing spit out of both sides of her beak!
time to go pick vegetables before the hot sum makes them too big. Especially where they din't get picked yesterday. Enjoy your day, Sally
