I did not want to get up this morning , I did not want to see this dense fog, knowing it was soaking the hay.  At least the thunderstorms aren't supposed to come until late this morning, giving me time to pick  raspberries.  And giving Brian time to dig potatoes.  Yesterday was a good day for Darel.  He chewed on some fresh mint why he watched me water the mums., checked out the blueberries and watch Gilbert climb the cherry tree to pick cherries.  Darel carried in the box of cherries, probably eating more than he should.
There seems to be far fewer blackbirds.  Probably my gain is someone else's loss but i sure don't miss them.  No birds for awhile this morning, a hawk landed on one of the feeders.
I chased it away.  I know they have to eat too, but not our fledglings.  With the bee balm in bloom the hummingbirds aren't coming to the feeders as much.
I did quite a bit of weeding yesterday.  Jordn cleaned out the grape vines.  Weeds are doing well this year.  I'm watering the onions and than the cucumbers unless today's showers drop a lot of rain.  Enough rain to ruin hay but the soil is dry when we dig potatoes.  Why I picked raspberries Rachael waited on customers.  In between she weeded by the generator shed and planted flowers.  She also planted more flowers in a bed she had planted earlier.  She doesn't like to see any flowers go to waste.
There is a space between the pond and the tool shed that was just a mess.  Jordn cleaned it out and covered it with cardboard and hay.  today we are going to plant a Heptacocium, seven-son flower shrub.  I've never seen one but it is supposed to be beautiful and beloved by pollinators.  The literature says the blooms last a long time and provide food when there isn't as much.  I have some shrubs to sell and we are going to plant one.  It is supposed to be very fragrant besides.
Time to go pick raspberries before the thunderstorms come.  Have a good day, Sally
