Afternoon showers Sunday, a stiff WNW breeze, high 76, low 55. Sunshine Monday, a NNW breeze, high 76, low 51. Mostly cloudy Tuesday, an east breeze, high 76, low 55. Showers Wednesday, Thursday, perhaps into Friday morning. A SE breeze Wednesday, high 68, low 58. An east breeze Thursday, high 71, low 59. A north breeze next Friday, high 72, low 57. Mostly cloudy next Saturday, a little more sun next Sunday, north breeze, highs 75, lows 55. A SW breeze Labor Day, clouds, high 74, low 56. Tropical storm Dolly isn't forecast to become a hurricane The name has nothing to do with Dolly Parton, it comes from a series of names started in 1953.
Two tarped loads of second cutting hay are waiting to be unloaded this morning. There wasn't much dew and the late night shower in last night's forecast dried up. There should be more but the second cutting grass is thin due to lack of water. This week's drought monitor shows us going in the wrong direction.
Jay's onion won first place at the fair. Heather's bouquet not only took first place but Best of Show. The fair was fun, next year they are going to enter more.
Darel repaired the front of the barn. it looks so good, all of us admire it every time we drive in the yard. He is going to rebuild the haymow door smaller in hopes it will be less vulnerable to the wind. There will still be room to set up the hay conveyor. The winds batter us.
There is more on the to do list this morning than unloading hay. Everyone is busy, I want to do more weeding before the storms hit. The hens want their daily ration of weeds and grass. May your day be blessed, Sally
