A quiet weekend, everyone spent time working in one of the gardens. Yesterday Maegin was at her mother's, the others went to the coast for the day. The storms held off until they were about ready to come home. I came home from church and worked behind the house until it started raining. In late May I planted 3 Canadian red rhubarb roots I got from Amazon. One of them is finally growing. I'm hoping the other two grow. This week the hibiscus finally showed signs of life. They are always very late. One of them has a dozen green shoots!
I'm very pleased with the horticultural vinegar results. Pleased enough so that I'm not going to try mixing it with salt. I'm going to spray more areas Wednesday, the forecast says no rain for at least 48 hours with lots of sun.
We are closed Sundays and Mondays for the rest of the season. Except for July 26th. July 26th is Open Farm Day across Maine. We will join with many of our fellow farmers in welcoming visitors. Bradford Days is July 18th. Country Junction will have a float in the parade. I will try to help any customers who come why everyone else is at the parade.
We will be closed Saturday July 11th for a family event. Otherwise we will be open Tuesday through Saturday until we run out of vegetables, usually the last week in October. As soon as we have vegetables the stand is open seven days a week. Self service.
May your day be blessed, Sally
