The kitchen garden is alive with birds. Mostly finches and evening grosbeaks. The cardinals mostly come early before the rush and in the evening at dusk. It is late for grosbeaks to still be here. Usually by now they have gone back to the north woods.
Bekah is warming up cream for me to make butter. Butter gets made whenever there is enough cream. Taking care of milk is like laundry and dishes, a daily task.
The Coast of Maine order came yesterday. It is warm enough to set up the store. But it is also warm enough to set up the hoses. That comes first, life is much easier with water where we need it. Today the calibrachoas will get moved to the calibrachoa house, an unheated greenhouse where they will thrive with lots of room and cool temperatures. They may decide to run an electric heater Saturday night. They are a week late getting moved so they are second on the list, behind the hoses. They are almost as hardy as pansies but April weather has been late getting here.
May your day be blessed, Sally
