Yesterday was another busy day with pleasant weather, still dry.  Margin cleaned up most of the spilled lhay, building a small garden on the west side of the house with it.  She put cardboard under the hay to make sure the weeds and bedstraw were smothered.  We'll bury coffee grounds, tea leaves and egg shells under the hay.  When Bekah cleans the chicken out this fall a layer of chicken manure will go on it. By next spring it will be a fertile area.
My back is doing much better.  I was discouraged for a few days.  I fertilized  the flowers in containers around the house .   Fertilizing with liquid fertilizer as I water  is on every Friday's to do list. I do some pruning as I fertilize.  The hummingbird feeders need to be filled twice a day.  We have so many hummingbirds.  The babies aren't little anymore.  It seems like we have more birds coming to the feeders of sunflowers seed than other summers.  There were almost no birds coming when the dandelions were going to seed.  Gilbert and customers complain about Japanese beetles.  We don't have very many.  Because the birds are eating them?
May your day be blessed, Sally
