Yesterday was a so-so day weatherwise. The sun tried to shine and there wasn't much wind but it never really warmed up. They were in the greenhouse transplanting or pruning most of the day. It was pleasant in the greenhouse.
The new way to accept credit cards came. Bekah set it up and is pleased with the way it works. Just in time! Open Greenhouse Week is May 5th through the 10th but the greenhouse officially opens Tuesday the 16th. People have been buying seeds and Coast of Maine products.. This next week pansies and other cool weather flowers will be for sale. Fruit trees and other nursery stock start arriving the third week in April.
We have a male cardinal looking for a mate. All day he sits in the birch tree calling for a female. A few of the blackbirds are trying to eat out of the little bird's tube feeders. In the process they spill some sunflower seeds on the ground. Just before dark we see two male cardinals looking for the spilled seeds. Sometimes a female. I think there is a pair who have a nest close by. They seem to take turns coming for seeds. Do they take turns because they have eggs to keep warm? The killdeer returned yesterday. They know it is going to warm up!
May your day be blessed, Sally
