I'm sure you have noticed the loop comes pretty late some mornings. That is because there is no news. Cooking, cleaning and laundry aren't newsworthy. This time of the year keeping things going seems to be all that we get done. The days are getting longer so I need to collect eggs and feed the birds earlier. If we don't collect the eggs a couple of times in the morning some get broken. The hens all think they need to lay in the same nest and get to squabbling. I like to make sure there are plenty of seeds for the little birds. They get up earlier than the jays, grosbeaks and doves. By the time the big birds get up the little birds' crops are full and they fly away to some place quiet and rest. The wood cook range and the pellet stoves are not set the thermostat and forget stoves. They need to be cleaned. Ashes need to be stirred up in the cook range, the ash pan emptied every few days. I get up first so I get it burning hotter to warm things up. The new pellet stove has a thermostat so I don't have to adjust the setting. Bekah and Jay's stove needs to be turned down when the sun starts shining in the windows. Usually it doesn't need to be turned back up until I get up in the morning. Some of these windy winter days the stove gets turned up more! The little seedlings need to be tended every day. Bekah does that. This week Bekah is working at the kennel. Heather, Jay and Maegin are all working at the florist. Valentine is a busy time for the florist.
There is a lot going on in this world to pray about, also lots of sickness around. Everyone seems to be on the mend in this family. There are also many things to give thanks for. May your day be blessed, Sally
