The Griffin rep was here most of yesterday morning. He bought sheets of prices for their catalogs. Prices have been changing so fast they no longer put prices in their catalogs. Gilbert wanted a roll of black mulch plastic. The price has increased 400% from the cost of the last roll he bought four years ago. The rep bought some sad news. His coworker , a lovely and very smart, helpful lady found out she had cancer just before last Christmas. She died in January. Very hard for Jerry, they had been a winning team for many years. I was always thankful for her help and enjoyed visiting with her. Many things besides the supply order were covered in the visit. It is good to hear how other greenhouse people are doing things.
Doug had ordered a wheeler load of firewood logs for each of us. The supplier messaged Doug that he would not be able to fill the order because mud season was arriving this week. Doug just bought his skidder home from a pine woodlot he was working on. He is going to try to skid some logs out of the farm woods today and tomorrow why things are frooze. Fortunately the loads of wood he had ordered were to make sure we had plenty of wood if next winter is a hard winter. We both thought we'd have a start on the next winter.
Bekah spent the afternoon transplanting. When the kids got off the bus they were happy to go help her. Today will be beautiful in the greenhouse. Keeping it warm tonight will be a challenge.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
