Yesterday was a quiet day.  despite the weather warning no icy roads going to church, no ice in the parking lot.  No late afternoon thunderstorm like we had Saturday.  Folklore:  Thunder before Easter means a cold April.  Long range weather forecast is for warm and dry weather.  We'll know in April.  For now we are happy to see average temperatures the week we start the greenhouse fires with just enough accumulating snow to insulate around the bottom of the greenhouse.  We've gained an hour and a half of daylight since the winter saliste Maple syrup producers are having an early run.
The live trap is spring but empty.
After church Bekah did some more winter sowing.  I've been questioning the peppermint plants I have under lights in the bathroom. Bekah checked them.  she thinks one of them has crossed with chocolate mint.  The chocolate and peppermint patches are quite a ways apart but maybe not far enough?  So much grass has infiltrated the peppermint patch that we are starting a new one.  We'll have to move it even further away.  Maybe the peppermint I'm planting behind the house will be the patch.  Bekah moved the herb seedlings from the  table by the pellet stove to the laundry where it is cooler.  They will grow well.  She needs space on the warm table for more petunias and salvia.
May God bless you on this day.  Sally
