Yesterday/last night and today is a mini vacation to Bar Harbor for Bekah, Jay and Azalea. A couple other grandchildren and families joined them. A friend of Jay and Bekah's and Sally Jo did chores. I watered my own hens. Usually Bekah does.
When they get back they are going to start the greenhouse fires. A day early but the sun will warm it up today so the stoves just need to maintain the temperature. Starting it today will make sure it is warm enough to take plants out Friday. With the cold forecast for Saturday they want all the soil and water to be warm enough to help hold the heat. They will put all the seedlings in the middle where it is warmest. Saturday won't be the last day for a cold wind but perhaps it will be the last day we see a low in the single numbers.
Jay helped Gilbert move the laundry shelves out to the garage..After Gilbert got them set up there was room for the cupboard that holds light bulbs and canning supplies. Kayden helped Gilbert carry that out. There is stuff on the shelves but I will find a new home for it or it will go to the Salvation Army. I want my plant and garden supplies to be on those shelves. Gilbert anchored the shelves and cupboard so they are very sturdy
The laundry is ready for Gilbert to put in the electric hot water heater. We will switch to it for summers. Everyone is happy that the cook range won't be going in the summer. Me, well I will have to learn how to cook on the electric range. I have only used the electric oven, the top has been a countertop. The knops have been put away in a drawer to make sure the stove never got turned on accidentally. Some shelves I built will need to be removed .
May God bless you on this day, Sally
