Darel had a pleasant day yesterday, going to Sunday School and church. Still very little swelling in his feet but the past few weeks have sapped some of his strength, he moves very slowly. He didn't try to stand for the hymns. Lil Andrew took time to visit with him after he cleaned the chimney. It bothers Darel that now I have to be the one to help clean the chimney instead of him.
The chimney only had a half bucket of creosote but we aren't likely to have a bare roof again for awhile. And it is nice to clean the chimney when it doesn't need it very bad because no fine soot seeps out around the clean out door. The range needed cleaning, inside and out. The kitchen always looks nicer when the Black stove is all shinny.
The letter is done. I'm low on ink again so no working on display cards for a few days. That's ok, I've a seed and mum order to send in. I want to finish my pollinator perranials garden plan before I finish my perennial bare root orders. usually i get some requests after people get the winter letter.
I can walk on the snow in the kitchen garden. The cardinals are glad. I can put sunflower seeds under the rose bush. They like a quiet place to eat away from all the noisy evening grosbeaks. The bluejays and grosbeaks are late to rise and early to bed so the chickadees and cardinals have some quiet time. With a skiff of snow forecast last night I waited to feed the birds this morning so the seeds wouldn't get covered. And they always seem to need water! I notice daylight is coming earlier when I need to feed the birds in the morning.
Have a good day, Sally
