10/20/18
Happy spouse equals happy house!  Be kind to each other!

48 degrees, clouds with a west breeze.  A few showers possible this morning, a stiff SW breeze with clouds today, a high of 59, dropping to 39 tonight.  Partly cloudy tomorrow with a strong NW breeze, a  high of 42 and a low of 27.  Partly cloudy Monday with a brisk WNW breeze, a high of 44 and a low of 29.  Showers Tuesday with an east breeze, a high of 46 and a low of 32.  That low of 32 may mean Wednesday's showers start as snow, turning to rain as we reach the high of 42 with a brisk NNW breeze.  Partly cloudy Thursday with a NW wind, a high of 40 and a low of 26. About the same Friday just a little less windy.  Some clouds next Saturday with a brisk NW breeze, a high of 47 and a low of 31.  Sunday afternoon starts a week of showers that may fill our streams and ponds.  The good thing is the highs will be about 48 with lows in the mid thirties.
Darel had a good day yesterday. quite a few of kids and grandkids stopped by.  In the evening we went for a ride, going to Whitney's for pork rinds and back to Andrew's for a pizza.
Besides odds and ends i spent most of the day making cookies, enough so i could put some in the freezer.  The cookie jar hasn't been in very good shape this fall!  I also made and canned 12 pints of green tomato mincemeat.  I'd like to make another batch.  The warm temperature today means finish pulling the soaker hoses.  It is easier to keep them from kinking when it is warm.  The water is off,  I hope to get the rest of the hoses put away too.
The flowers close to the hose are still pretty, we get to enjoy them for the weekend.Just as I was telling Darel about all the nice different birds in the kitchen garden a flock of grackles came in!  They moved on in an hour or so, hopefully they wee just passing through.  A grau squirrel was in the oak tree looking for some acorns the blue jays missed.
     Have a good day, Sally
