Darel had a pretty boring day yesterday, it rained so hard most of the morning that the TV wouldn't work He often sleeps a lot but does like the TV when he is awake. A neighbor stopped by and didn't want to wake him. I'll have to make sure to wake him when someone comes, he doesn't like to miss a visit. He thought of new reason to ride to Corinth after supper, Whitney's has the kind of pork rinds he likes.
I did a little cleaning why it rained. i also cleaned the hummingbird feeders and filled the halfway. i don't fill them when it is hot because I want fresh food for them. The sugar water ferments so quickly in the heat. The nuthatch fledglings have left the nest. they are coming to the feeders and whenever i look out at the old pine tree I see them running up and down it. No sign of the wood chuck since we caught the skunk in the live trap. Did that make it decide to move?
The sun is shining, everything is a beautiful vibrant green, and the weeds are growing. I weeded the flower beds in the picnic area, planted more flowers and swept the ground cover under the table. All ready for cook outs when Darel's sister gets here next week. Doug says I can move the flower boxes to the front of the barn Monday. Usually whenever the crew says a section is full of hay he can fit another trailer load in! Stron west winds yesterday afternoon and evening dried the grass out so he can mow.
Enjoy your day, Sally
