Darel had a very good day yesterday, no swelling and normal pulse. He went outside for awhile in the afternoon. Ordinarily we don't like chipmunks but a cute one kept Darel entertained.
My day was spent watering and moving plants. Sunny days means lots of water. And constant strong breezes mean remay covered plants when they go out into the wide world. My way of hardening them off, I can't set that many in and out for awhile every day to get used to the out doors. Lil Mike heeled all the strawberries in so when customers buy plants they will know they are strong growing plants. lots of clean up was done. The road to the vegetable dump in the woods dried up enough so we could get to the dump. Our heartnut trees are a cross between butternut and walnut trees. Walnut trees/leaves are toxic to many plants so we don't put those leaves in the compost pile.
Boyd Lake ice is very rotten, this rain should take it out. I don't know what the connection is but we never seem to hear peppers until Boyd Lake ice goes out. I did hear a single killdeer last night. I've started letting the chickens out for tick control.
This rain will bring on the green and give me time to do inside work. Have a good day, Sally
