The highlight of Darel's day yesterday was a wheelchair ride. Doug helped Gilbert get Darel into a wheelchair and Gilbert took him outside for a ride around the yard and down behind the barn. He also had visitors come by to make the time go by faster. Nicole topped his day off with a delicious dinner for all of us. I helped him sit up for awhile this morning. He is looking forward to going outside agin today.
I got the blueberries weeded. They were weeded in May but nothing stays weeded. I was glad to get the weeds pulled why the berries were still green so weeding wouldn't knock them off. The bushes are loaded with berries. Brian spent the day weeding other parts of the garden. Doug brought over a very large load of wood on the white truck. Rachael and Sally Jo unloaded and stacked the whole load. We were all impressed, we thought it would take them a couple of days. Rachael even did some watering.
I know why the hummingbirds are going through so much food. the nuthatches are drinking it too. One of the sunflower feeders has been on the ground every morning. Yesterday i moved it, apparently whoever was knocking it down could'r reach it, it is still in place this morning. Doug's dog has killed three skunks right by their house. The smell is pretty well gone and there haven't been any more skunks. A friend has shot five in his yard. Jordn has lined cement blocks along the garage to keep them from digging under and moving in.
More weeding and planting today. there might be some summer squash ready. Gilbert has been digging a few potatoes.
Have a good day, Sally
