3/3/16
Put your troubles in a pocket that has a hole in it.

Minus 1, clear with a very light breeze.  At five the greenhouse was down to 48.  Putting wood on the stoves every two hours made lots of coals.  I opened the drafts, stayed until it was up to 52.  Then i shut the drafts down enough so i felt i could leave the stoves.  the sun is starting to shine on the greenhouse, it will warm it up even though today's high is only going to be 18.  A low of 1 tonight but no wind.   Tomorrow will be partly cloudy, calm with a high of 30 and a low of 10.  Sunny Saturday with a north breeze, a high of 33 and a low of 11.  Cloudy Sunday with a west breeze, a high of 39 and a low of 20.  cloudy Monday with a SW Breeze, a high of 43 and a low of 30.  Partly cloudy Tuesday with a high of 48 and a low of 34.  Wednesday's high will be 55 with some clouds and a low of 39.  Morning clouds /afternoon sun next Thursday with a light NWN breeze, a high of 51 and a low of 34.  Cloudy next Friday with a light NW breeze. a high of 50 and a low of 35.  Partly cloudy Saturday, the 12th, with a SW breeze, a high of 49 and a low of 32.  Rain/ snow showers Sunday, the 13th, with a light NW breeze, a high of 48 and a low of 30.  Partly cloudy the week of the 14th with highs in the upper forties and lows around 32.
We had an inch of snow when it started raining yesterday morning.  The warm temperatures never got here, our high was 34.  So we have two inches of frozen slush.  My spiked boots keep me from falling but it is rough walking.  And I'm doing lots of walking, putting wood on the fires every two hours.  The greenhouse was sixty or higher until three thirty when it dropped to fifty-five.  The sun is shining so bright that it will be warm.  I'll burn down all the coals so I can keep it warm tonight.  No wind tonight.   The wind died down about two.  Before that it was a struggle to get in the greenhouse without losing the door.
Five cardinals spent yesterday morning in a feeder with a roof eating sunflower seeds.  They let a few little brown birds in but no jays.  I had to refill the finch feeders late morning so many were here.  The natural feed was iced over.
The girls got lots more planted yesterday.  I spent most of my time cleaning the fans and getting them going.  I have lots of fans because i don't want any cold spots.  As the plants grow and crowd the greenhouse there needs to be lots of moving air to keep them healthy.
       Have a good day, Sally
