8/25/18
A task worth doing and friends worth having make life worth living.

Mostly clear with an east breeze and 60 degrees.  Yesterday we had a high this haze of smoke from the far away western fires.  I don't know if it will still be over us today. Some clouds today and tomorrow with south breezes, a high of 83 and a low of 57.today, a high of 81 and a low of 63 tomorrow. Partly cloudy Monday with a WNW breeze and a high of 86.  A slight chance of a shower Monday night with a low of 66.  Mostly cloudy Tuesday with a WSW breeze, a high of 89 and a low of 72.  A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible.  Partly cloudy Wednesday with a brisk WSW breeze, a high of 90 and a low of 63.  An isolated thunderstorm possible Wednesday night.  Sunny Thursday with a stiff NW breeze, a high of 75 and a low of 51.  Friday will be the same with less breeze.  Partly cloudy next Saturday with a SSE breeze, a high of 75 and a low of 54.   Partly cloudy Sunday and Monday, Labor Day,  with SW breezes.  Sunday's high 77, the low 60  Monday's high 81, the low 58.  It now looks like any rain Monday will hold off until evening coming as scattered thunderstorms lasting into Tuesday, the 4th.  Once the storms clear out the rest of the week will be pleasant with highs in the seventies, lows in the fifties.
Darel had another good day yesterday.  We went for a ride last night, surprise, we wound up at the Creamery.
i picked another gallon of Blueberries yesterday.  I wasn't going to pick anymore but the late ripening bushes had lots of nice berries.  After all the berries fall off I will weed and mulch them.  It is important to mulch over any fallen berries to prevent mummy berries.  A pleasant late fall job.
Last week  i read an article that said don't bother buying repair plastic hose ends.  It said they are made so cheaply now that they don't last.  Either they won't screw together or they will slide apart after they are screw on.  i buy them by the dozen so I have several on hand.  The article was correct, i've had nothing but problems with the new ones.  I spent a couple of hours working on hoses yesterday.
With the warm days forecast I washed the hummingbird feeders and refilled them.  Lots of little hummingbirds are coming to the feeders.  Soon they will be leaving, about September 6th.
     Have a good day, Sally
